Global Links

We are pleased that the school has recently been awarded the first level of the British council's 'International School Links' Award. This recognises the work that the school has begun in developing pupils' awareness and understanding of internationalism.

We have links with two international schools; one in Malaysia and one in Nairobi, Kenya.

Children at Bacon Garth have been involved in sending e-mail and letters to their international friends and they have also sent and received letters, picture, fact files and cultural information.

We have learnt about Malaysia in school and produced a class assembly all about their study. The Malaysian school held an 'English Tea Party' ...and that pictures of them eating cucumber sandwiches, drinking tea and wearing top hats were fabulous!!

Our link school in Nairobi is in a very deprived area and so recently our children organised a fundraising day. The money raised paid for us to send some well needed resources to the school in Kenya.

We received some lovely pictures from Kenya (taken on the digital camera the children had bought for them!) showing the children using the pens, pencils, paper, felt tips etc. that they had received  from our children
